Heat seal instructions

Make sure that the sealing platen of the machine is clean and undamaged.

Description
Thermark C-tapes are hot stamp ink ribbons for the Perm-A-Print series, DP-2000 (-T) and DP Junior, which are available in various colors and sizes. The imprint is conforming to the requirements of Oeko Tex 100, certificate 1012046 Centexbel.

Application
Thermark Dry Ink ribbons (C-tape for short) deliver clean, clear, sharp permanent images on the surface it is applied to.

Properties
Washable up to 95°C Dry cleaning resistant

Limitations of use
None, when washing instructions of the underlying textile are followed.

Physical properties
The ribbons are printing ink adhered to paper, available in various sizes and colors:
– 1” (2,54 cm) width: C-10 6 rolls shrink-wrapped, per package
– 2” (5,08 cm) width: C-20 3 rolls shrink-wrapped, per package
– 3” (7,62 cm) width: C-30 2 rolls shrink-wrapped, per package
– 4” (10,16 cm)width: C-40 2 rolls shrink-wrapped, per package

Core size: 1” (2,54 cm) ID x Width: see applicable size
Thickness of the ink ribbon tape: 3 mil (7.62 micron / 0.0762 millimeter) length per roll: 61 meters.

Before sealing
Ensure that the to be marked textile is free of lint, dust, dirt and no seams, zipper, buttons etc. are near the place where the heat sealing will be performed.
Remark: Good bonding can be prevented in pre-conditioned fabrics with a DWR (durable water repellent coating) or FR finishing.

Handling and storage
Keep away from oxidizing agents, from strongly alkaline and strongly acidic materials. Store in the original packing, out of direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. Shelf life: best before 50 months.

No specific safety measures are required when working with this product.

Exposure controls/personal protection
Technical measures:
We advise to ventilate well at heat sealing activities, since vapors may occur from any textiles being processed.

Hazards identification
The product has not been subjected to classification following the European legislation. Special hazards designation for humans and environment are not applicable.
