Description

Thermopatch developed Impressio to prevent unwanted shining imprints after heat sealing on textile.

Application

Developed for protecting the textile around the product you wish to heat seal and which comes into contact with the heating plate. Any imprint coming from the platen or carrier is transferred to Impressio rather than to the garment, with no visible imprint after the heat sealing cycle as a result.

Properties

Blue heat resistant silicone impregnated polyurethane foam, for preventing imprints after heat sealing.

Limitations of use

Do not exceed above mentioned maximum temperature setting of 210 °C to prevent early deterioration of the foam.

Before sealing

Ensure that the to be marked textile is free of lint, dust, dirt and no seams, zipper, buttons etc. are near the place where the heat sealing will be performed. Remark: Good bonding can be prevented in pre-conditioned fabrics with a dirt or water repellant coating.

Apply Impressio as instructed with the provided working instruction.

For an optimal heat sealing result we advise to set the pressure on any large platen pneumatic heat seal press to 3-5 bar on the pressure regulator of the machine, when using the standard issued lower platen. When using smaller lower plates, decrease pressure to avoid damage to the transfers.

Handling and storage

Keep away from oxidising agents, from strongly alkaline and strongly acidic materials. Store out of direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place.

Precautions

No specific safety measures are required when working with this product. During heat sealing activities  the product can give off a distinctive smell which is not hazardous. We advise to ventilate well at heat sealing activities, since vapours may occur from any material such as textiles being processed.

The product has not been subjected to classification following the European legislation.
