Plytex labels are compliant to Oekotex product class II, under certificate number 1012046 Centexbel.

Description

Plytex® are polyester-cotton textile labels with transparent or white pigmented heat sealable adhesive and a pressure sensitive adhesive coating. Suited for printing barcodes (Q601) and property marking printing the material with an impact printer (dot matrix) like an Epson LQ-690. The labels are on a silicon coated backing fanfolded backing paper with pin feed.

Application

Impact printed heat sealable labels for property marking and barcode printing.

Properties

• Industrially washable up to 95°C
• Good chemical resistance.
• Suitable for all textiles which allow the thermoplastic adhesive to penetrate and bind itself to it and which are resistant to its application temperatures.
• Easy positioning because of the extra pressure sensitive adhesive.

Limitations of use

None, when washing instructions of the underlying textile are followed.

Before sealing

Ensure that the to be marked textile is free of lint, dust, dirt and no seams, zipper, buttons etc. are near the place where the heat sealing will be performed.
Remark: Good bonding can be prevented in pre-conditioned fabrics applied with a dirt – or water repellent coating.
Ensure that the textile is thick enough to be able to absorb the pressure sensitive adhesive before
marking

Heat seal instructions

204 °C at 14 seconds at 4 – 5 bar pressure on a pneumatic heat seal machine or firm – strong pressure on a manually operated machine. Make sure that the sealing plate of the machine is clean and undamaged.

• Position the Plytex® label onto the garment
• Close the heat seal press with the set temperature, time and pressure
• Leave the garment to cool down for a few seconds before taking it off the machine.

Storage and shelf life

Keep the Plytex® labels in their original packing, out of direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place. The shelf life of this product is advised to be best before 24 months in optimal storage.

No specific safety measures are required when working with this product.

We advise to ventilate well at heat sealing activities, since vapors may occur from any textiles being processed.
